FIRST EDITION OF AIRPORT SOLUTIONS MEXICO HAILED A SUCCESS

Delegates and exhibitors keen for next instalment

07.05.17: The inaugural edition of Airport Solutions closed on Thursday, after two days of lively discussions that have left many attendees keen for the next edition. The event saw 1,024 visitors and 105 delegates attend to hear presentations from industry experts such as Jorge Romero, Deputy Director General of Air Safety, SCT, Fabrizio Martin, Product Line Manager, Thales Group and Haakan Anderson, Director of Airports, Unisys, among others.

The only conference of its kind where supply meets demand, the attendees represented all sectors of the airports industry including airport construction and design, airlines, cargo and freight and security and emergency systems.  With an infrastructure renewal program of 170 million dollars in Latin America, as well as the construction of a new and modern airport in Mexico City with a value of approximately $9.2 billion, Airport Solutions provided a platform to connect providers with decision makers as well as the opportunity to evaluate various key issues and solutions.

Topics discussed ranged from outlook on government policy and regulations in the airport sector to airport safety and security and passenger experience. In addition, the creating green airports presentation examined the opportunities and challenges of implementing green technologies as the industry moves towards sustainable and economic design and construction in new projects.

“It’s gratifying to have received such an overwhelming response to our inaugural edition of Airport Solutions Mexico,” said Timothy Hawes, Portfolio Director of Airport Solutions Global Series. “It demonstrates that there is an appetite for this event in the region. Latin America provides some fantastic opportunities and Airport Solutions Mexico has shown that it is the ideal platform for the industry to drive itself forward.”

Attendees were also able to interact with key industry players in the exhibition, where market leaders such as Rockwell Collins and Schneider Electric were presenting their latest technologies available.

Airport Solutions Mexico is part of the Airport Solutions Global Series, which will continue throughout 2017 with Airport Solutions Dubai (November 2017) and Airport Solutions Indonesia (December 2017), with Airport Solutions Turkey coming in Spring 2018.
